Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
